Other Characters: Tai Lung
Name: Tigger
From: Winnie the Pooh
Appearance: Tigger is a stuffed tiger toy. He’s mainly orange with black stripes, but his belly and chest are white, along with his muzzle (except for the orange across the top going to his big round pink nose). His hands are big mitts, rarely looking like he has fingers, but he always has his thumbs. His long tail is perfect for springing around on, and his legs are low to the ground, built for bouncing.
Age: No idea, he’s a stuffed animal. But not more than a few years.
Gender: Male
Personality: Just about everything is “what Tiggers do best,” or what “Tiggers love”—or so Tigger will almost always say the first time he tries it. Very quickly though, it becomes apparent that whatever that thing is, he probably doesn’t even like it, much less have a chance to actually be any good at it (if it’s some sport or task). The only thing Tigger is really good at is bouncing, which can sometimes annoy his friends quite a great deal—in particular Rabbit, whom he just about always pounces at the least opportune times.
Aside from the bouncing and trouncing and flouncing and pouncing, Tigger is a very nice, very helpful sort of guy, always ready to lend a helping hand, even though it may not turn out to be very helpful in the end. He’s enthusiastic and usually very happy, ready to bounce into danger if it’s to protect one of his friends (to a certain extent, anyways). He’s loyal, yet a bit reckless, so while he’ll promise to take great care of your charge, he may not do such a great job of keeping them out of trouble (case in point, getting himself stuck in a tree while Roo’s around, after promising Kanga he’d take good care of the little guy).
Backstory: One night, when there was a terrible wind howling outside, Winnie the Pooh was asleep in his house. He heard a strange noise that worried him quite a bit, but couldn’t identify what it was. When he opened the door, suddenly he was pounced by something orange. Pooh didn’t know what to make of this strange thing, until he asked it to introduce itself. Tigger happily broke into song to explain who he was, dancing about and making his love of bouncing quite clear to the stuffed bear. Pooh offered him some honey, and Tigger happily dug in, until a few moments later when he realized, to quote, “Tiggers definitely don’t like hunny.” He states that hunny is only good for “hephalumps and woosels” before giving Pooh another round of singing and bouncing on out as he does it.
What Tigger really is, within his canon, is a stuffed tiger plush toy, and his entire character is dreamt up by the very young Christopher Robin, a boy who couldn’t be more than five or six years old. Christopher Robin brought Tigger in to join his group of toys, and has all of them go on marvelous and imaginative adventures with him—or without him, as the case may be.
Moral Standing: Good
Dreams: Tigger’s a pretty simple fellow, and doesn’t need much to be happy. He doesn’t seem to be striving for anything but having lots of friends and bouncing as much as he can, in both new places and old. His dreams mostly involve just never having any of that stuff change, even if he has to meet a few new people to get it back.
Fears: Tiggers are afraid of heights. And they’re afraid of not being Tiggers anymore, and they are most definitely afraid of losing their bounciness.
Extra: nothing~
